The hardest-working, hottest young rock band in Southern California – ACIDIC – is at it again! They’re about to conquer Eastern Europe! The boys will be rockin’ from Latvia to Bulgaria and Azerbaijan this fall, representing the US as official international cultural ambassadors! ACIDIC beat out 300 competing bands to join the 2016-2017 touring season with the prestigious American Music Abroad program, through the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs! The tour kicks off from Washington DC, and spans five countries from the Baltic Sea to the Caspian Sea through October and November.
“Frontman Michael Gossard is a force of nature, connecting to his audience and his band mates in ways that make an ACIDIC show highly electrifying.”
ACIDIC reasserted their dominance at L.A.’s legendary Viper Room, with their third consecutive sell-out event leading Maximum Threshold Radio Network to rave “picture yourself driving down the 405 freeway consuming mass quantities of Rock Star Energy Drinks with your hair on fire while riding in a shopping cart. YOU my friend have now experienced ACIDIC live in action.” The band was also on fire in Rockwired.com’s 2016 Readers’ Poll Awards: Best Band, Best LP Recording (“Creatures”), and Best Video (“Chicago”).
“Creatures” is a breakthrough CD for ACIDIC, with TWO charted hits in two different formats – Alternative and AC. Its first single, the lusty rocker “Chicago,” stayed on the Mediabase Rock Charts for months. “Chicago” won multiple “Pump It Or Dump It” and Top 10 Video Countdown competitions across the country, on the air and online. ACIDIC’s second radio launch off the “Creatures” CD, the soulful ballad “Beautiful,” zoomed into the top 30 on both the Billboard/(BDS) Adult Contemporary New & Active chart and Mediabase. “Beautiful” was the #1 Indie record in America in AC Radio spins for at least five weeks! Boomerocity.com pronounced the album “a treasure chest of rock gems” full of “well-written, brilliantly performed, and meticulously recorded tunes that grab your attention and won’t let go until they’re finished saying what they want to say.” Screamer magazine ranks their work on a par with Def Leppard, Nirvana, Blind Melon, Styx, and even the Beatles. AXS.com cites the CD’s versatility, catchy radio-ready tracks, and broad-based appeal, summing up with: “you just might think their music is ‘Beautiful’!”
“Creatures” is ACIDIC’s third collaboration with multi-platinum award-winning producer John Ryan of Chicago Kid Productions (Styx, Santana, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers), following 2013’s “Copper Man” and 2011’s “Chronic Satisfaction.” Several tunes on “Creature” debuted at the 20th Anniversary Van’s Warped Tour, wowing crowds and critics alike. BLUERAIL.com cites frontman Michael Gossard is a force of nature, connecting to his audience and his band mates in ways that make an ACIDIC show highly electrifying.” DallasObserver.com hails Gossard as “gleefully demented”! The band’s SOLD OUT event at Doug Weston’s Troubadour sparked an electrifying video from L.A.’s Troubadour show, featured at 140 Hard Rock Cafes in 60 countries! Fans flocked to that show from FOUR earlier Warped Tour dates: Pomona, Ventura, Mesa AZ, and Albuquerque NM! ACIDIC’s performance on the Hard Rock Kevin Says Stage at Warped earned them their first mention in Billboard magazine.
ACIDIC continues to build on earlier accolades earned by their “Copper Man” album, whose title track and second hit “Drive Thru” stayed in the top-100 on the Mediabase Active Rock charts for months. Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx singled out both tracks as his “Sixx Picks of the Week” on his syndicated radio “Side Show.” ACIDIC has now established as tour headliners in a growing number of markets including Joplin MO and Bloomington IL. “BEST Wednesday night in a year” (Herman’s Hideaway, Denver) and “BEST Monday night EVER” (Machinery Row, Great Falls MT)!
ACIDIC has toured with Hinder, Trapt, Candlebox, Fuel, Alien Ant Farm, Hawthorne Heights, Filter, Marcy Playground, Smile Empty Soul, and Armed Forces Entertainment for US troops in Kosovo and Germany; WJJO-sponsored Taste of Madison Festival, Sunset Sessions Rock 2013!, multiple 2Broke 2Rock KHTQ-sponsored festivals in Spokane WA, 2012 Winter NAMM Show at the Anaheim Convention Center, SXSW, Florida Music Festival, Rockin’ Roots Festival, Sunset Strip Music Festival, and Bamboozle Left. They’ve played special shows with Paul McCartney’s lead guitarist, Rusty Anderson, and one of the final shows headlined by the late Scott Weiland. In addition, ACIDIC’s power rocker “Strata Red” won the Alternative category in the 18th Billboard WorldWide Song Contest.
